Default Critical Axe

As title suggests i've been testing alot of alternatives to the Crit Scythe build that has been nerfed not too long ago. So here's a bunch of the builds ive created as an attempt to make things more 'interesting'.

Critical Axe - Decap Machine

Critical Strikes 12+3
Axe Mastery 12

Decapitate (Elite)
Furious Axe
Malicious Strike
Dash
Critical Eye
Way of the Master
Critical Agility
Critical Defenses

So generally the idea of this build is to deal sustained amounts of damage while 'tanking' along the frontlines. Decapitate is used to do a lethal amount of damage and cheap deep wound along with it. The problem is when Decap eats all your energy as a price. But that is what Critical Eye and Way of the Master is for. with these 2 skills up, you can deal a critical strike almost every other attack, and with Critical strikes at 15, with a zealous axe along, you would be able to gain 5 energy for each critical attack. Allowing you to spam Furious and Malicious Strike as damage attacks. Rinse and repeat once the target is dead. Dash is used to kite from mobs incase something goes terribly wrong.

Critical Axe - Seeping Wounder

Dismember
Seeping Wound(elite)
Axe Twist
Malicious Strike
Way of the Master
Deadly Haste
Critical Agility
Critical Defenses

Based on the Decap Machine, the main focus of this build is to weaken foes and pressure enemy healers. With Deadly Haste maintained, you should be able to cast Seeping Wound on a target without letting the hex end, since at 15 critical strikes, the recharge time is halved to 6 seconds whereas seeping wound has a hex time span of 7 seconds. Hence you are able to deal 25 dps for extrended period of time- provided you have enough energy, which is where WoTM and the 2 adrenal skills comes in to help with your energy management.

With way of the master and critical eye, one can gain energy through the use of critical attacks. Allowing the usage of skills with a high cost. This concept can be applied for other weapons such as the hammer, sword or even the staff - yes. the staff.

cheers xD

well, i use Decapitate for the extra damage- since it is the hardest hitting axe attack you could find..but that's just how i play it.

The advantage Decapitate has over Eviscerate is small, especially for an Assassin, but the disadvantages it has are pretty big.

Ive been playing around with Dcap on my warrior with an zealous axe, and it worked ok, but with the added energy&IAS from a sin, Id say go for it, Dcap is an great skill, eaven though the loss is to big.

This was my attempt at using Decapitate on my assassin with a zealous axe. PvX has a Triple Chop build that can be found here. You can also invest in Tactics like the first build too if you really wish.
